I'm Jessica
Founder of Nook
I’ve always built from a place of necessity.

Before Nook was a launchpad, it was a survival project. I’d lived in four countries before I was nine, nine schools before I turned 15, learned to adapt fast, and spent most of my life designing systems for belonging I couldn’t always find.

When I began building Nook, I had a UX design and startup background, a licensed construction crew of two friends, and a conviction that work and belonging shouldn’t exist in separate worlds.

I wanted to create a home base for founders who were building from grit, empathy, and vision that sustains through generations. To provide a launchpad for the underrepresented yet impact-driven projects that aim to be self-sustainable, building in a safe place.
For the ones doing it differently: learning as they go, bootstrapping their dreams, and figuring out how to make something both fundable and human.

Today, that’s still the heart of Nook: a place for people building things that last because they care about people first.
My Story
When I first dreamed of Nook, I imagined a space that felt like an exhale.

A place where creative people could feel at home and launch their projects successfully.

Over the past few years, I’ve watched something beautiful happen here.
You’ve co-created this home more than anything I could've ever dreamt. Our late-night brainstorms, shared family-style dinners, running to share our big wins and bigger questions.

You’ve made Nook what it is: a living system of care, creativity, and collaboration.
As we grow, we’re refining what Nook stands for.
We're not changing direction, just leaning into our main mission: to be the home for builders from zero to launch.
Nook will always be a creative coworking hub. But it’s also something more: a prototype for how we live, work, and grow together without burning out, with mentors who believe in you.
And like all living things, it’s growing deeper roots.

This year, you’ll see new rituals.
New experiments.
New ways to participate: as members and co-creators of the kind of world we want to live in.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for believing in a space where the underdogs rise, where care is culture, and where everything... even the smallest act, can be a seed.

Let’s keep building,
Jessica Liang
